Dr. Ovett Chapman Jr.

Dr. Ovett Chapman Jr. is a school psychologist, adjunct professor, and the Principal Consultant of Wellspring Education Solutions. He has worked in public education for over a decade, supporting students, educators, and school systems through a lens of equity, inclusion, and mental wellness. His experience also includes work within Arizona’s child welfare system and at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles USC Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.

Dr. Chapman earned his Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Arizona. In 2022, he received the Excellence in Equity Mental Health Professional Award from the American Consortium for Equity in Education for his leadership in advancing mental health and equity initiatives in schools.

He currently serves as Western Regional Director for the Arizona Association of School Psychologists and is an active member of the organization’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force. Through Wellspring, he collaborates with schools and districts to strengthen student support systems using inclusive, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches.

Outside of work, Dr. Chapman is a proud husband and father who finds his greatest motivation in family.
